They have their unique sweet taste due to an usually low amount of sulfur in soils of that geographic area. It was Georgia's official state vegetable back in 1990, and I recall eating a LOT of these as a child. They are hands down my favorite onion of all time! We will see how they do up here in the north, but so far, they are coming along nicely as seedlings! |
